Society : When the wife fights back dirty!

Image
Lately, I’d been regaling Dolapo, a former colleague’s FWB (friends with benefits) of  decades, with tales of the escapades of some of my darling friends in recent months— especially in the last few weeks when a couple of them had virtually burnt their fingers with the spouses of their ‘bits-on-the-side.’ A few weeks after one of them, Kadijat had her annual birthday bash, when she almost got into hot water when Rex, her husband, who travelled showed up, she visited Jake, her lover and the ‘co-sponsor’ of her party. He had conveniently disappeared from the scene as soon as he saw Rex, to avoid any embarrassment. “It was the first time we would have a decent chat after the party/ Kadijat explained, “and we were theorizing on what could have happened if we’d been caught red-handed by Rex, when Jake’s wife virtually burst into his office. I’d seen her vaguely at one or two parties, sullenly looking my way as if daring me to say something untoward.   But, what could I have t...

Society : The time will come when all you’ll have are memories!

WHATEVER your view on sex is, the fact remains it’s recently been stripped of its cloak and dagger mystery. Where men once bragged of the number of notches on their bed-posts, women now don’t see sex as a ‘chop and wipe mouth’ phenomenon. They see it as of right – they want it, if it’s available, they take as much as they want. No guilt. Just emotional satisfaction. Ini and I were at Lilians recently and, naturally the banter skirted around sex. Lilian’s cousin Betty’s ‘problem’ came up for serious consideration. According to Lilian, Betty believes her body was made for sex! “Only, Betty doesn’t know the enormity of the type of fire she’s playing with,” sighed Lilian. “She confessed she’s addicted to sex because whenever the opportunity of having a shag presents itself, she said she couldn’t stop herself from taking it. She is seemingly happily married to a responsible man. They have three lovely kids and a good sex life. Betty is an assistant director in one of the ministries and...

Relationships : Tips for dating a Nigerian woman

Image
Dating a typical Nigerian lady can be a topsy-turvy experience especially for a man who is just wetting his feet in the dating game.  Normally, women are complicated beings let alone a Nigerian woman who has so many  challenges to deal with like an unstable economy, family, tradition, ethnicity, religion, peer pressure, biology and much more. All these factors conspire to influence whoever she will date. The average man with his chauvinistic African mindset or perception does not understand this and expect this type of woman to accept him hook, line and sinker. Little does he know that the days of parents marrying wives for their kids is old skool and that most women know what they want. If you want your relationship to blossom with a typical Nigerian woman, Give her money to make her hair Didi, Shooku, and Patewo are traditional hairstyles in Nigeria but young women prefer the Brazilian hair, the deft Ghana weaving, and attachment because it makes them appear sophisti...

Canice BREAKING COMMON-SENSE !!! . A man that sex is his priority should not have a girlfriend. I repeat, you don't need a girlfriend. What you need is Runs babes OR A FLING-MATE. (That's cheaper)lol . There are lovely girls everywhere that are ready to help out with just your little token. They re in your streets, on Badoo, on facebook, everywhere. . Some guys that need sex so badly even lie to themselves; "I don't do runsgirls" And in self-deceit, they go and woo a runsgirl without knowing. That is, they get for themselves girlfriends who are runs-girls. Yet, they don't do runsgirls. Lmao . The truth is; A girlfriend should not be just for sex. If sex is all you want, What you need is not a girlfriend. You need a runs girl to help you out. Na your money sha. . Girlfriends are for company (sexual and non sexual alike) and commitments necessarily. Commitment is the landmark of serious relationships. Not for sexual rumps and flings...

Society : Marriage matters; really?

Image
It’s a known fact that more and more couples live together yet never marry, often in partnerships that dissolve with depressing speed and regularity. These types of couples are called Rainbow families, consisting of a mother and an array of children fathered by different men. Even the words: husband and wife; are gradually dropping out of our vocabulary and the word, ‘partner’ is seen as a modern replacement. It describes all couples, even if they are husband and wife. Does it matter—this steady erosion of a time-honoured institution? After all, if people live together, have children together but never get around to tying the knot, isn’t that much the same thing as marriage anyway? According to an increasing number of a group of academics and policy makers all around the world, more emphasis should be placed on the slogan—Marriage Matters. Some of the home truths these professionals want to spread is the fact that children raised in two-parent homes are far more likely to do w...
