Society : A Nation Of Sane Minds Ruled By Retards!!

I do not consider myself anything but pure African. I am not, and will never be an African-American or African-British or any other diluted blend of African for that matter. I am from West Africa. I am Nigerian and I am proud of my country. I am proudly from Nigeria – a nation of sane minds ruled by retards!

In 2015, after reading a very popular but obnoxious article credited to Mr. Donald Trump – a top candidate for President of the United States in the forthcoming 2016 presidential elections describing Africans in the most deprecating lights, my blood boiled over a 100 degrees and I simply felt nothing but raw angst against the republican loudmouth. Mr. Trump had described Africans as “very lazy” people who only know of “lamenting how they are discriminated”, yet “steal from their own people”, but truly “need to be recolonized for another 100 years” for the basic reason that “they know nothing about leadership and self-governance”.

When you come across such statements directed at your person, race or culture, the expected auto-response is to fight back and dig into the blame of that other person. One could for instance retort by stating that America also records the worst acts of terrorism through its wiping off of an entire race of native Indians, blind use of atomic weapons, prolonged slavery of different races, and promotion of gay rights which most African societies would publicly declare repugnant. I think even a mugwump would react as such.

However, after typing a handsome load of counterblasts, properly organized into a five-paragraph article, the adrenaline rush started to wear off and I began to reminisce on Mr. Trump’s word and how true it describes even majority of the political leaders in my own beloved country – Nigeria. I then refrained from any auto-responses to Mr. Trump’s attack on Africans, because I do not think he did a fine and thorough job. I think he only made his comments based on shallow research of the manner in which most African societies operate. If I had been Trump’s socio-political analyst, I might have helped him reach a safe conclusion on Africa’s leaders’ retardations. As a proud Nigerian, I would have helped him realize how much his statements are true and how much his blunt verbal hurling offer a perfect insight into understanding how my own country is a nation of sane minds ruled by retards!
Unfortunately, I would beat Mr. Trump to the glory of having done a fine job through my analyses of the state of things in Nigeria.

Citing the case of Boko Haram, the reason, (beside internet scam), for which Nigeria has become notoriously popular among nations of the world, I recall the shock that Nigerians got from their legislators who amidst the troubling and worsening terrorism crisis in the country made a decision to award themselves a whooping amount of forty-three million dollars ($43,000,000) as wardrobe allowance while the education, health, sports and defense sectors are in a rotting away. My first thought was that perhaps cries from across the globe might deter them from such shameful venture and help them reconsider their steps, but that was not to be. Subsequently, our President, Muhammadu Buhari went cap in hand across the globe seeking funding from nations such as the United States, to put in place logistics that would help win the war against the Boko Haram militants. In an online post, it was reported that Obama pledged to support Nigeria in the fight against Boko Haram with a sum of five million dollars ($5mllion). Of course, we the common people are not aware whether Nigeria actually got the funding or not, but most possibly you can be assured, we got the funding.

In addition to that poor choice by Nigerian lawmakers, the recent war on corruption by President Mohammadu Buhari has revealed to the whole world why it was possible for a handful of miscreants to cart away more than 200 school girls in broad daylight without any trace whatsoever up till date: former Chief of Defense, Dasuki had shared approximately four hundred trillion naira (N398,419,920,000) meant for safeguarding the nation against Boko Haram among friends and PDP party loyalists for ridiculous projects that have no bearing whatsoever on the development of the nation or security of its citizens. In the light of the investigations, some gifts purchased from the funds were also used in keeping president Buhari up to status in the league of former Heads of States or Presidents. A chunk of this funds was spent on publicity for the Jonathan 2015 campaign re-election bid in form of payments to Raymond Dokpesi of DAAR Communications. Femi Adeshina, the presidency mouthpiece is also fingered to have gotten a share of what is now popularly known as the national “yam”

Just like the new composition of lawmakers, who cherish bangles and sneakers over the welfare of citizens, Dasuki and his friends decided to squander money meant for the purchase of arms on election campaigns, parties, young girls, overseas shopping sprees and the welfare of their families.
Still on the issue of Boko Haram (leaving out missing budget and media law for now), the president during a well-publicized media chat, was unable to provide accurate figures on the number of missing girls that needed to be rescued from the militants. Worst still, the president could be heard strongly advocating that the Nigerian government pursue dialogue with Boko Haram leadership rather than launch strategic offenses on the infamous group.

In the light of all these drama, any normal individual would  ask “are these people really sane?”. I think the situation is  much more a debate about the sanity of Nigerian (cum African) leaders than it is of a debate about greed.

In the midst of all these intrigues, a pattern similar to what Mr. Trump had earlier described begins to emerge – Nigeria, judged by the intellect and sanity of its current leaders is not ready for independence. Obviously, the leadership of Nigeria is unsure what to do with a nation, but it sure know that money is meant to be spent. I strongly believe things changed for worse for Nigeria after the military coup of 1966 by Aguiyi Ironsi.

Somehow in that passage of time, Nigeria, despite its ever growing number of intellectuals continues to have retards claim the seat of power. Unless that order is changed, Nigeria cannot make it out of its political and economic doldrums.
