Lagos, the former colonial capital of Nigeria, is steeped in history and it’s one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Lagos was declared the British Colony and capital of Nigeria in 1914 and since then the city has maintained its status
as the centre of civilization in Nigeria, even after Abuja was made the Federal Capital Territory.
After combing through some Nigerians’ archives and compilations from history lovers, we decided to bring you a historical tour of Lagos city. We present old-meets-new photos of Lagos scenes, which show the changing face of the city since
the days of our fore-fathers till now.

Cultists kill mate at girlfriend's birthday party in Ondo Bolaji, a 21-year-old student in Ondo, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of Ondo State met his end when he least expected. He was killed at a birthday party he organised for his girlfriend by suspected cultists. According to the Sun ,a clash between two rival cult groups during the ceremony claimed the life of the host, alleged to be a member of one of the cult groups in the town. The deceased who was said to have come from a wealthy family organised the bash for his girlfriend unaware that members of the rival cult group would grace the ceremony with his friends who were members of another cult group operating in the town. Sources said a friend introduced the deceased to a leader of Eiye Confraternity who after a minor argument used a dangerous weapon to kill him in the presence of his girlfriend and other guests.
